From Old Skool to the New Skool and Beyond
Hip Hop is the single most, influential genre of music in history!
It has come a long way since it’s inception in the late 70’s. Going from New York to California, Georgia to Illinois, Europe, Asia and beyond, Hip Hop has made it’s mark worldwide!
Today, we are hearing people cry for Hip Hop to establish a “good moral value” clause to the music. The generational lines in the industry have created a rift that is slowly dividing Hip Hop.
Russell Simmons - along with others - have held summits directed at educating artists, producers and others in Hip Hop on the business of music and even today, there are groups having as it’s common goal, the financial readiness of young people in the music business.
Pioneers in the business have publicly denounced the style of young rap today. Content in the music has become a trending topic. Feuds carried out online involving Icons and newbie’s has become fodder for nay-sayers against Rap.
There has been little follow-up to the cries for working together but, there is a viable solution to these problems and none of it is single-fold.
From Old Skool to the New Skool and Beyond is a Hip Hop collaboration project and documentary that can put into action the long held sentiment that the major players in the genre should work together.
The Music
A CD will be produced involving Legends of Hip Hop alongside Young relatively new Artists of today as well as Up and Coming Artists of tomorrow.
